i always found it kind of weird that people went to such lengths to make their own versions of it (photoshops / fake fb accounts / drawings) and i find it weird that it became such a big meme in such a short time, but ok! to each their own, if they are amused by it, then so be it. if you really want to dress up as a security guard and stand in the back of photos, so long as the person organizing the shoot isn’t bothered, go for it.
but one thing that isn’t okay is harassing people for the sake of a funny photo.
but wait! why would people ever do that? well, i don’t really know. but i went to a nyc homestuck meetup a few months ago and to my dismay, i find that there are people taking photos of security guards trying to see if they can get any funny shots. i found that kinda rude but whatever. we leave the meetup for a bit and come back, and i get word that people are actually harassing the security guards in an attempt to get a funny reaction and then taking pictures of homestuck cosplayers near them????
i’m not even gonna write another section on why that’s not okay. because, for real, it’s not. and it’s ridiculously silly to me that people don’t realize that! just. don’t do that. it’s not funny. it’s not cool. plz stop. ok? ok. thank you.
wow christ did someone actually do this at an NYC meet
